Good drink/dinner place before Tigers Game?

I am suprising my husband with tickets to Saturday night’s Tigers game. I’ve invited his 2 best friends to go along with us. We are starting off around 3:30 or so downtown Detroit. I need some recommendations of a good place to have a few drinks a dinner before the game. Nothinf fancy, just good atmosphere, reasonable prices, etc. We always go to Fishbones, so something other than that. Thanks! Also, if you could tell me where the place is downtaown, that would help too. We are coming from Sterling Heights.
